Tomorrow is the Teddy Bear Parade at the elementary school. This was a new thing for me when Cole was in kindergarten, but I've learned my lesson. When it was Cole's turn, I let him pick out his theme and make his own "float". The assignment said to "decorate a shoe box and pick out a teddy bear to ride in the "float". Easy enough, so Cole picked out Narnia for a theme and drew scenes from the movie on his box. I thought it was very cute. And he did it all by himself. Well, apparently I forgot about the over-acheiver-helicopter-parent factor at our school. He came off the bus crying, saying "nobody liked mine!" Ouch! I was feeling sad for him and angry at all the parents who did the homework assignment for their kids. Whatever happened to letting the kids do their own work?? Well, as lame as I still think it is to do you kids work, I couldn't bear to see Paige disappointed after school tomorrow. Especially since hearing stories about parents sewing costumes and decaling shoeboxes. So, we worked together on the floor crafting a very girly float for her special webkinz to ride in. It was alot of fun and I'm very proud that we went to the dollar store and only spent $3 for everything. Now let's just hope it doesn't fall apart before tomorrow. :)

Ditto on the annoying parents who do their kids homework!!! You are pretty amazing to compromise! Her webkinz float is adorable. How fun:)
Oh, I feel your stress. The float looks cute though.
You both did a Beautiful Job!!! At least you did it together and that's what matters.
