Dollywood here we come!

What a fun getaway we had last weekend. It was a 3 hour drive to the Smokies and the birthplace of Dolly herself. Gatlinburg is the best and worst of what the south has to offer. The gorgeous Smokies national park and southern comfort food, mixed with the "cash, flash and trash" of the main drag and all the junky shops. The kids had fun, fun, fun. We took a tram to the top of the mountains and they rode down alpine slides and water slides and saw bears. Our cabin was interesting. From the circa 1970's furnishings, to the death defying 2nd floor deck (Lily could've walked right through the railings,). But the view was awesome and the kids had fun with the twice a day hot tub dips and "let's make a fire" every night (even though it was 75 degrees). All in all a very cool place to visit. The park is pristine, and a perfect example of what makes America so beautiful.
